When you become a member, you can join us in Marietta for our weekly training run.
You can go as many or as few miles as you like, but usual routes are 4-7 miles and there are runners of all paces.
Runners can park on Kirk Rd (directly across the street from the park gate) or in Mulkey parking lot (after 5pm only) located at 904 Kennesaw Ave or at Northwest Exterminating (200 meters south from the park gate-830 Kennesaw Ave).
On the 1st Tuesday of the month GUTS orders pizza! So, bring a chair and your favorite beverage and enjoy some time with your fellow GUTS members
GUTS is headed to Amicalola Falls State Park for a training run on Saturday, July 26th!
We will meet at the #4 picnic shelter (towards bottom of the falls-go past the visitor's center then just past cabin #1).
Plan to start running at 8:00am. Don’t forget the daily parking fee at the State Park is $5 or you can buy an annual pass.
Route options:
1.5 - up&back to top of falls via the stairs (2miles if go down via east ridge trail to the visitors center and then to shelter #4)
4 - Park loop - up the stairs then east ridge to west ridge and back down stairs
11+ miles - To Len Foote Inn and back via AT approach trail (start/finish via stairs)
17+ miles - To Springer and back (start/finish via stairs)
Be sure to bring your hydration and substance for the run.You can refill at Len Foote Inn. Afterwards we will meet back at the #4 Picnic Shelter. Grills fire up at 11:30 so plan accordingly.
GUTS will provide the burgers, veggie burgers and non-alcoholic beverages. You can bring something else for the grill if you don’t want burgers and whatever you want to drink. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
