PMTR - 46 and 19 mile trail runs

When: Sunday, December 6, 2020                                                                                                                                  46 Mile - 6:00AM       19Mile - 9:00AM  **Both races will have wave starts-exact times TBD**

What: 46 mile ultra marathon and 19 mile on the beautiful Pine Mountain Trail system of FDR State Park in Pine Mountain, Georgia. This GUTS event will test your endurance and your ankles over rocky single-track trails. The trail follows the ridge line, going up and over it for the duration. Depending on water levels, the few water crossings could be dry or ankle deep. You'll experience both pine & hardwood forests, rock outcroppings, waterfalls and beaver ponds. If the full monty isnt your sort of deal, try the PMTR "Lite", our 19-mile race. Same great trails, less time in the woods!

Packet Pick Up

Saturday, 12/5,4:00-6:00PM, F.D. ROOSEVELT STATE PARK – Exact location TBD, but either at the finish Picnic Pavilion #2 or at the RD’s cabin (view map here) - Park at the LAKE and walk over from there. Details will be emailed to the address you used on UltraSignup a week prior to the event.

Sunday 12/6, 4:45-5:45AM – 46 MILER ONLY -  Picnic Pavilion #2 (near group shelter)
In an effort to limit crowding at the start, ONLY participants doing the 46-mile race may get their bibs and packets at this time. Once you have what you need, please move away from the picnic pavilion to avoid congestion and crowding.

Sunday 12/6, 7:00-8:30AM – 19 MILER- Picnic Pavilion #2 (near group shelter)
Please observe safe social distancing practice. Once you have your bib and packet, do not congregate around the picnic pavilion waiting to start.

Please check in during your alotted time to avoid confusion and crowding at the check-in table!  Runners must wear a mask at check in. PACKETS MUST BE PICKED UP IN PERSON. WE WILL NOT BE MAILING SHIRTS, BIBS OR PACKETS. Every runner must pick up their own packet. We cannot permit someone picking up packets for an entire group.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2020

First and foremost, THANK YOU for being a part of the GUTS family. We are so excited to end the year with an event that brings a sense of normalcy to our lives. This year has made me truly appreciate our trail running community. In order to have the safest race possible and end the year on a high note, we must cover some basic safety information, which will be repeated through this handbook.

  1. MASK UP! At the start, when hanging out after you finish, when approaching aid stations, and any other time you come within 10’ of other runners or hikers.
  2. Volunteers will be provided complimentary GUTS Boco masks and gloves to wear while assisting runners.
  3. As has always been the case, all aid stations will have disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer.
  4. Food will be individually packaged or portioned and served to you by a volunteer.
  5. We will implement staggered starts to avoid crowding and conga lines.
  6. Last, but MOST importantly, please DO NOT show up to this race if you are feeling under the weather or have had recent known or suspected exposure to Covid-19.
